Logic Level 1

It is possible to form an equation with the digits 1, 2, 3 and 4 using 2 operations:

1=2+3-4

Your task is to form another equation using the same digits in the same order. Apart from the equals sign, is it possible to use just one operation?

12=3*4 or 12/3=4

I do not generally believe digit concatenation may be used. Instead, my first sight is 1 2 = 3 4 1-2 = 3-4
