  • A Cow cost $10
  • A Pig cost $3
  • A Fish cost $0.5

(Buy at least one of each)

Assuming:

  • C Is the number of Cows
  • P Is the number of Pigs
  • F Is the number of Fish

What is te value of: F + P - C


The answer is 90.

We are given that C + P + F = 100 C+P+F=100 and 10 C + 3 P + F 2 = 100 10C+3P+\frac{F}{2}=100 . Eliminating F F gives 19 C + 5 P = 100 19C+5P=100 . Since 19 C 19C must be divisible by 5, we have C = 5 , P = 1 , F = 94 C=5, P=1, F=94 . The answer is 90 \boxed{90}
