121st Problem 2016

Given the parallel circuit above with the following values:

R 1 = 100 Ω R 2 = 300 Ω R 3 = 600 Ω V T = 150 V { R }_{ 1 }=100\Omega \\ \\ { R }_{ 2 }=300\Omega \\ \\ { R }_{ 3 }=600\Omega \\ \\ { V }_{ T }=150V

Find the P T { P }_{ T } (Total Power) of the circuit.

1 r = 1 100 + 1 600 + 1 300 = 200 3 P = V 2 r = 15 0 2 200 3 = 337.5 \frac{1}{r}=\frac{1}{100}+\frac{1}{600}+\frac{1}{300}=\frac{200}{3}\\ P = \dfrac{V^2}{r}=\dfrac{150^2}{\frac{200}{3}}=337.5
