We are given the sides of the two legs and are asked to find the length of the hypotenuse. To do this we must use the Pythagorean Theorem, where a 2 + b 2 = c 2 a^2 + b^2 = c^2 . First we set up the equation 153. 3 2 + 6 9 2 = c 2 153.3^2 + 69^2 = c^2 . We get 23500.89 + 4761 = c 2 23500.89 + 4761 = c^2 , then when we add the two numbers on the LHS we get 28261.89 = c 2 28261.89 = c^2 . To get the value of c c , we must square root both sides of the equation so 168.112730036 = c 168.112730036 = c . The question said to round up the answer to the tenth place so 168.1 = c 168.1 = c .

Nice Solution :)
