Because x 100 / x = 1 x^{100}/x = 1 => x 100 = x x^{100} = x => x ( x 99 1 ) = 0 x(x^{99}-1)=0

now x 99 = 1 x^{99}=1 or x = 0 x=0 . Now x = 0 x=0 is not possible hence x 99 x^{99} has 99 \large \boxed{99} zeroes.
