since the ratio between the person and wall is 1:1 then, 16 people with 16 walls can finish in 44 mins.

let wall-->w people-->p ; and time-->T. according to the problem... p∝1/T and p∝w hence p∝w/T therefore p=C(w/T).........(1) C-->constant of proportionality

substitute given data in first in (1) case ie...p=7 , w=7 and T=44min we get C=44 since C is a constant....substitute C and given data in second case (ie...p=16, w=16) then we get T= 44mins. hence solved

It is the same as 1 person to 1 wall is 44 mins. Therefore for 16 people to 16 walls, is equivalent to 1 person 1 wall thus ans is 44 mins

I don't think there is a need of an explanation.

n people can paint n walls in 44 minutes. just substitute 16 and there is the answer!

7 people------7walls-------44min 1 person------7walls-------(44*7)min 1 person-------1 wall--------44min 16 people-------1 wall-------(44/16)min 16people--------16 walls-----44 min
