A child is having a birthday party. He is going to the amusement park! However, his parents are strict, and only gives him these 3 options:

  1. Bring one friend, and have 2 rides on the roller coaster.

  2. Bring two friends, and have one ride with everyone on the roller coaster.

  3. Go by himself, and have 3 rides on the roller coaster.

The child is disappointed by these picks he has. So, he decides to make his parents spend as much money as possible.

What option(s) cost the most?

Details and Assumptions :

All rides cost the same (no discounts). The child doesn't spend any extra money on anything else.

All options cost the same amount of money Option 1 Option 2 Option 2 and 3 are the same amount of money, option 1 is the cheapest Option 1 and 3 are the same amount of money, option 2 is the cheapest Option 3 Option 1 and 2 are the same amount of money, option 3 is the cheapest

Many people can easily forget about the child himself. Lets call the cost of one roller coaster ride for one person c .

Option 1: The parents pay for the friend and child , which is equal to 2c . They go on twice, so the cost is 4c .

Option 2: The parents pay for the 2 friends and child, which is equal to 3c .

Option 3: The child goes on 3 times, which is 3c .

Out of the three options, option 1 costs the most.
