1 solution

let x=bat and y=ball, then we have the two equations

x + y = 1.10 (eq. 1)

x = 1 + y (eq. 2)

substitute (eq. 2) in (eq. 1), we have

1 + y + y = 1.10

2y = 0.10

y = 0.10/2 = 0.05 dollars
