The answer is 9.

The question is basically asking the square of tree so the answer would be 9

They are looking for the square root of b. Since a = 3 and a= the square root of b, we have to think: What number do we get when we multiply 3 x 3? The answer is 9.

by substituting $a = 3$ , we will get $\sqrt{b} = 3$ . Square both side, we get $b = 9$
