-1 (8+1/5-3^2 (4-1)) = -1 (8+1/5-3^2 3) = -1 (8+1/5-9 3) = -1 (8+1/5-27) = -1 (-18.8) =18.8

You're supposed to multiply the coefficient into the bracket, not concatenate them together.

-1(8+1/5-3^2(4-1)) = -1(8.2-3^6) = -1(8.2-729) = 729-8.2 = 720.8

That there should be the correct answer
