let 'x' be the total contents in the container.

so, on the first day x * 1/3 got evaporated i.e, x/3.

therefore the amount of the remaining contents is equal to, x - x/3 = 3x/3 - x/3 =2x/3.

similarly, 2x/3 - 2x/3 * 3/4 gives us the remaining contents on the second day,

               which is= 2x/3 - x/2
                                 =4x - 3x/6
                                 =x/6

therefore 1/6 of the total contents in the container is remaining on the second day.

If 1 3 \frac{1}{3} of the contents evaporated on the first day,then 2 3 \frac{2}{3} of the contents are left.On the second day 3 4 \frac{3}{4} of the remaining contents evaporated it means that 2 3 × 3 4 = 1 2 \frac{2}{3}\times\frac{3}{4}=\frac{1}{2} of the remaining contents evaporated.So 2 3 1 2 = 1 6 \frac{2}{3}-\frac{1}{2}=\boxed{\frac{1}{6}} of the contents are left.
