Good question. But It should be ClO4 (-).
soln In SO3 &SO4(-2) it's 2, in ClO4(-) it's 3 and nil in PCl5

Can u please elaborate in pcl5, p has hybridisation sp3d. So shouldn't that be taken into account?

PCl5 contains all sigma bonds

Aren't there 3 pi bonds in so3? So it should be 8 as the correct answer. U do mean the so3 molecule right?
