A classical mechanics problem by Abhiram Rao

A particle is projected at a speed 10 m/s 10 \text{ m/s} at an angle 45 degrees with the horizontal. Find the radius of curvature at the highest point of the trajectory of the projectile.(in cm) T

ake acceleration due to gravity equal to 10 m/s 2 10\text{ m/s}^2 .

We can solve this problem easier with physics concept

Vo = 10 m/s

Vymax = 5√(2)

(vymax)^2 = 50

We know that centripetal acceleration in y maks equal to g, so :

as = vymax^2/R

g = 50/R

10 = 50/R

R = 5 m -> 500 cm
