A geometry problem by Akshat Sharda

Geometry Level 2

The position vector of a particle is given as r = ( t 2 4 t + 6 ) i ^ + ( t 2 ) j ^ \overrightarrow{r}=(t^2-4t+6)\hat{i}+(t^2)\hat{j} .

Find the time (in seconds ) after which the velocity and acceleration vector becomes perpendicular to each other.

The answer is 1.

velocity vector=(2t-4)i(cap)+(2t)j(cap) acceleration vector=2(i(cap)+j(cap)) Clearly velocity and acceleration vector becomes perpendicular to each other when their dot product is zero . Therefore t=1 second.

How did you get the velocity and acc vectors?
