A class of 20 students borrowed library books for their research projects. Some of the students, borrowed 3 books each, and the rest borrowed 2 books each. If a total of 52 books were borrowed, how many of the students borrowed 3 books each?

let the no of students who borrowed 3 books each be x then no of students who issued 2 books each =20-x by the condition, 3x+2(20-x)=52.

x=12
