In the SI, "peta" would mean $10^{15}$ .

It's actually wrong. One kilobyte is actually equal to $2^{10} = 1024$ , not $1000$ bytes. One megabyte is $2^{20} = 1048576$ , not $1000000$ bytes. So for petabyte, it would actually be $2^{50} = 1125899906842624$ bytes, not $10^{15} =$ 1 quadrillion bytes. It's not far from the actual answer, but it's still wrong because you said 'equivalent to' in the problem.
