A cut through a hyperboloid of one sheet

Calculus Level pending

The image attached shows a hyperboloid of one sheet intersecting with a plane.

The cut shown in the image is elliptical. How many different types of cuts are possible when a plane cuts through this hyperboloid of one sheet ?

Note: Ellipses and Circles are considered to be the same type.

The cut can be:

  1. Elliptical
  2. Parabolic
  3. Hyperbolic
  4. A pair of intersecting lines
  5. A pair of parallel lines
