Suppose that a magnetic field is going into the screen, AB is a wire with a velocity to the east - so in which direction would the induced current be?

That's too simple , apply Fleming's right-hand rule , in which the Thumb represents the direction of Motion of the conductor ,the First finger represents the direction of the Field, the Second finger represents the direction of the induced or generated Current.

We must use Fleming right hand rule

to get the direction of current we use flemings right hand rule so the direction of current will be from B to A
