A few candies and a lot of takers!

Mrs Gonzales is the class teacher for a rather mischievous class of the Sacred Heart school!

To make them behave, she announces that the top 3 most civil folks would be given an equal number of candies. But on dividing the total lot she has in three equal parts, she finds she is left with exactly 1 extra candy.

but Mrs Gonzales is very kind and she does not want to keep even one extra with her. So she announces that she will award the top 5 well behaved folks. But to her amazement, even on dividing her candies in five equal parts, she is left with exactly one extra candy.

This behavior of the candies continues even if she divides them into 7 or 9 groups, each time leaving her with exactly one extra candy......A divine intervention ?!?!?!

Can you tell me what must be the minimum numbers of candies that Mrs Gonzales has with her?
