A Flexible Rope!

A uniform, flexible rope passes over two small, frictionless pulleys mounted at the same height (see figure). The length of the rope between the pulleys is l = 2 3 m l=2\sqrt{3}\text{ m} and its "sag" is h = 1 m . h=1\text{ m}.

In equilibrium, what is the length s s of the rope segments that hang down on either side?

The answer is 2.
