Let M=mother's age, C=child's age
Then equating the problem:
M = C + 2 6
M + 6 = 5 ( C + 6 ) ⇒ M = 5 C + 2 4
C + 2 6 = 5 C + 2 4 ⇒ C = 4 − 3
Hence the child will be born on 3/4years, rather on 9 months from today, so we can conclude that the Mother will be pregnant this month
