Let M=mother's age, C=child's age

Then equating the problem:

M = C + 26 M=C+26

M + 6 = 5 ( C + 6 ) M = 5 C + 24 M+6=5(C+6) \Rightarrow M=5C+24

C + 26 = 5 C + 24 C = 3 4 C+26=5C+24 \Rightarrow C=\frac{-3}{4}

Hence the child will be born on 3/4years, rather on 9 months from today, so we can conclude that the Mother will be pregnant this month
