Find the equation of the straight line that intercepts the x x -axis at x = 4 x=4 and the y y -axis at y = 6 y=-6 .

2 x + 3 y = 12 2x+3y=12 3 x 2 y = 12 3x-2y=12 2 x 3 y = 12 2x-3y=12 3 x + 2 y = 12 3x+2y=12

by the intercepts form:

x a \frac {x}{a} + y b \frac {y}{b} = 1

x 4 \frac {x}{4} + y 6 \frac {y}{-6} = 1

thus 3x-2y=12
