Before drying, the watermelon has 99% water, it means 1% is "real watermelon" = 1% x 5kg = 0.05 kg. After drying, the new watermelon has 98% water, it means that 0.05 kg of "real watermelon" is 2% of the new watermelon. Therefore, we have 100% new watermelon = 0.05kg / 2% = 2.5 kg.
