Friction opposes motion is partially correct. Friction also helps in motion. For example, consider the case of ice. We cannot walk on it because there is very less amount of friction between the ice and our legs.

Actually you are partially right Sir. Let us consider a motion of a tyre...if frictional force did not exist it would not move forward. :)

but what about the drag faced by it? it will oppose he motion of tyre .
