There is a match between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Messi scores 1/2 of the total match goals, while Ronaldo scores 1/3 of the total match goals and Benzema scores a goal. If the match has been drawn, what is the total number of goals scored by both Barcelona and Real Madrid ????


The answer is 6.

Here , let us take total number of goals as x x

Messi = x 2 \frac{x}{2}

Ronaldo = x 3 \frac{x}{3}

Benzema = 1

& if we arrange it , then

x 2 \frac{x}{2} = x 3 \frac{x}{3} + 1

=3x = 2x +6

= x = 6 \boxed {6}

let x be the total number of goals

since 1/2 and 1/3 of the total match goals

were earned by Messi and Ronaldo, only 1/6

was earned by Benzema

1= 1/6x

x=6
