There are only 2 people at the beach all the time (the couple).

Exactly, no worry of their sons and daughters, it's just said that the couple went for picnic... It would better have been a Multiple Answer question @Zi Song Yeoh , because people have only 1 try at that type of answers. Here , 3 is long enough to get the troll...
