Frogs always tell truth and toads always lie. But in dim light they are indistinguishable. You met them ( let A,B and C .) in dim light. You asked A - Are you a toad ? A, replied but you couldn't hear that. B said that- " A denied being toad". C said that - "A really is a toad". Find the number of toads in A,B and C.

B is telling the truth since anything, both frogs and toads will deny being a toad, so B is a frog. However, C accused A of being a toad, so whether A's allegation is the truth or a false one, both of them would have been of different species, so ONE toad in total.

Let us assume that A is a toad ; then its answer to your question will be "NO" again if A is a frog then also its answer will be "NO" Now, B said that -" A denied being a toad " that says that B is telling the truth. So, B is a frog. Now if A is a toad then according to the question C becomes a frog. Now if A is a frog then according to the question C becomes a toad.

So always the number of toads remains same i.e. "1".
