The above shows a rectangle and two circles of radius 4 drawn such that both circles pass through

  • the midpoints of sides AB and CD of rectangle ABCD

  • the vertices of rectangle ABCD (2 vertices for each circle)

  • the center of the other circle.

Find the area of this rectangle.

Give your answer to 2 decimal places.

Nice setup.

The written solution is missing some detail, which is sortof expressed in the image. Specifically, can you add in a written line explaining why A M = M B = r AM = MB = r ? Thanks!
