A frog is at the bottom of a 78 meter well. Each day he leaps 4 meters up the well. At night, while he is asleep, he slips 2 meters backward.
How many days does it take him to escape from the well?

The answer is 38.

Solution is not 39 ! Its 38 !! After the 37th night it will be at 74m so on the 38th day it will jump 4m and reach 78m, the top of the well

At the end of 37th day frog will reach 74 m, on 38th day it will jump 4 more meters n total becomes 78 m.Frog reaches 78m on 38th day n escapes (no need of night slipping of 2m)
