Assuming x x is a positive integer, for the RHS to be a power of two, x x must also be a power of two (convince yourself this is true). Obviously x 2 x\neq2 or 1 1 but plugging in x = 4 x=4 produces 16 = 16 16=16 which is true. Thus x = 4 x=4 . Upvote if you did this in less than or equal to half a second. :D

we can do it orally also!!!

THE RIGHT ANSWER CAN ALSO BE 3/4.

I don't agree, but there is another correct answer.

It is .3099069 < x < .3099070

not sure why the downvote. Guiseppi is correct.

No, you are wrong

2^3/4=8^1/4

&

4 x 3/4 =3

2^anything except zero is not a 3 multiple

So, we can't say the answer is 3/4

0 can also be the answer

2^0=1 and 4*0=0

wrong 2^0=1 .....[ any number raise to zero is 1 is the first law of indices.] 4*0=0 and 0 != 1 thus 0 is not aceptable

2^0=1

But 4 x 0=0

how can you equate 1=0

log 2 4 x = x x = 4 \Large \log _{ 2 }{ 4x }=x \Rightarrow x=4

from the first step how can you imply that x = 4??

2 x = 4 x 2 ^ { x } = 4x , the value of x x equals to log 2 4 x \log _ { 2 } 4x .

Then log 2 4 x = x \log _ { 2 } 4x = x .

We can find that x = 4 \boxed { x = \boxed { 4 } } easily.

All the powers of 2 are always an even number. According to the question, the number on the RHS of the equation is equal to a multiple of four which is a power of 2. Such numbers are 4, 8, 16, 32, and till infinity. By trial and error, the number which balances the equation is 16 and 16 gives us the value of x as 4 because 2^4=4*4 and thus the question is solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 2 2 2 = x x x x 2*2*2*2=x*x*x*x this is so wrong -)

do we have any formula ? or we just have to work roughly!!!!!
