Can we say that as no next external force is acting on the system so centre of mass will remain where it was at equilibrium?

You need to explain about spring that it is not flexible and it is remained unchanged in contraction at rest of body.

Since there is no external net force on mass spring system the com of this system remains directly over the pivoting point giving a net torque of zero
