If 5 tires were used on a car which has traveled 25,000 miles, how many miles did each tire sustain, if all the tires were used equally in sustaining this mileage?

25000 × 4 5 = 5000 × 4 = 20000 25000 \times \frac{4}{5} = 5000 \times 4 = \boxed{20000} as at any point, only 4 out of 5 tires are used.
