Is there a way to tell that it is less than 8 without having to go through the painful calculations?
The ratio is ( 6 0 / 3 6 ) 1 / 3 , so:
x = 36 * ( 6 0 / 3 6 ) 1 / 3 = 42.683
y = 36 * ( 6 0 / 3 6 ) 2 / 3 = 50.606
y - x = 7.933
