Let the angle of inclination of the plane be θ \theta so we have vertical force as:

F = m g sin ( θ ) F=mg \sin(\theta)

F = m a a = g sin ( θ ) F=ma \Rightarrow a=g \sin(\theta)

Let h h be the height of the plane ( constant ). The vertical distance to travel is h h so the time taken is:

t = h g sin ( θ ) t=\dfrac{h}{g \sin(\theta)}

This is minimised when sin ( θ ) \sin(\theta) is maximised that is when θ \theta is as close to 9 0 90^{\circ} so when the plane has the steepest angle giving the answer as:

A \boxed{A}

Great explanation. Considering only one dimension allows us to simplify the considerations.
