Suppose Jennie’s current age is j j years.

  • After 2 years she will be j + 2 j+2 .

  • 3 years ago she was j − 3 j-3 .

Now,

2 ( j − 3 ) = j + 2 2(j-3)=j+2

⇒ 2 j − 6 = j + 2 \Rightarrow 2j-6=j+2

⇒ 2 j = j + 8 \Rightarrow 2j = j+8

⇒ j = 8 \Rightarrow j = \boxed{8}
