Suppose Jennie’s current age is j years.
After 2 years she will be j + 2 .
3 years ago she was j − 3 .
Now,
2 ( j − 3 ) = j + 2
⇒ 2 j − 6 = j + 2
⇒ 2 j = j + 8
⇒ j = 8
