Algebra Level 1

g ( x ) = 5 x − 1 g(x)=5x-1 , f ( x ) = 3 x f(x)=3x , then g ( f ( 2 ) ) = g(f(2))= ?


The answer is 29.

g(f(2))

= g(3(2)) .................. (As f(x)=3x)

= g(6)

= (5(6)-1) ................. (As g(x)=5x-1)

= 29

g(f(2)) f(x)=3x or,f(2)=3X2 [as given] so,f(2)=6

g(f(2)) =g(6)

g(x)=5x-1 or,g(6)=5X6-1 so, g(x)=29
