2020, then, is n+4, and 2012 is n-4, and we know n^2 is 4064256.

Using substitution, we find that ( n + 4 ) ( n 4 ) = n 2 16 = 4064256 16 (n+4)(n-4) = n^2-16 = 4064256 - 16

So our answer is 4064240!

2020*2012 = (2016+4)(2016-4) = 2016^2 - 16 = 4064256 - 16 = 4064240
