Steve wants to find diamonds fast in Minecraft. Considering the fact that lava covers 1 percent of blocks for lower levels of elevation, and lava covers 0.15 percent for higher levels, and diamonds covers 0.01 percent of lower levels and that hostile mobs(NPC(Non-Player Characters)'s that will kill you) spawn everywhere in the dark. which is the safest mining option for Steve?
Hint: Safest does not mean the fastest way to get diamonds!

Keep in mind that when you mine in a dark cave, there are already going to be some mobs there waiting to get you. If you dig straight down, you might fall into a cave or an underground lava pool, or a dungeon(where a new hostile mob spawns in there every few seconds). Number 1 doesn't make logical sense, so it leaves us down to answer 2.
