Recently, I asked my friend when was he born. He replied with the following 'puzzle':

"Oh, I will be $x + x^{2}$ years old in the year $x^{3}$ !"

Which year was he born?

Since $\sqrt[3]{2018} \approx 12.64$ , the next $x^3$ year is $13^3 = 2197$ , by then Winston's friend will be $x+x^2 = 13+13^2 = 182$ years old. So he was born in $2197-182 = 2015$ . Note that the following $x^3$ year will be $14^3 = 2744$ and he would then be born in $2534$ and would not be talking to Winston. Therefore, he was born between 2001 to 2020 .

Note that he was only 3 when talking about his age, $x^3$ , and $x+x^2$ to Winston.

He is wunderkind.
