Let current ages of Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith, Andy, Candy, Bandy be x, y, a, b, c respectively. Now by problem- x-7=2(a-7+b-7+c-7) i.e. X= 2(a+b+c)-35 Also x+y=2(a+b+c) Subtract equation 2 by 1 we get y=35.

Let the age of Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith, Andy, Bandy, Candy be x, y, a, b, c respectively. Now, b=a-3 & b=c+2 this means c=a-5 As per the ques. x-7=2(a-7+b-7+c-7) x-7=2(a+a-3+a-5) +2*(-21) x=2(a+a-3+a-5) -35................eq1 Also, x+y=2(a+b+c) putting the value of x in eq1, we get 2(a+a-3+a-5) -35+y=2(a+a-3+a-5) so, y=35
