1 = a - b

5 = a - b/ 5 => 25 = 5 a - b

24 = 4 a => a = 6

a = 6 and b = 5 checked to satisfy both equations,

a + b = 6 + 5 = 11

put x=-1 ;y=1(given) therefore, a-b=1 similarly put x=-5;y=5(given),therefore 5a-b=25 By Elimination method we get a=6 and b=5. so a+b=11
