The trick is x+4,where x"s coefficient is 1

The factors of 2 x 2 + 5 x 12 2x^2+5x-12 is 2 x 3 2x-3 and x + 4 x+4 which makes 2 2 and 1 1 as coefficients, respectively. 2 + 1 = 3 2+1=\boxed 3
