You are given all letters (A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, ..., Z = 26). A chain of letters consists of 3 or more letters together, in alphabetical order. How many chains have all square numbered letters?


The answer is 16.

All Square Numbers??? A, D, I, P, Y

5 choose 3 + 5 choose 4 + 5 Choose 5 = 10 + 5 + 1 = 16
