An algebra problem by Anandmay Patel

Algebra Level 3

A function f ( x ) f(x) is such that it outputs values by computing the inputs through some quadratic methods. Also, the output for a variable x x can be given in some form of a polynomial. Now, we know that f ( 5 ) = 0 f(5)=0 and f ( 0 ) = 5 f(0)=5 . The function gives the output as zero for only one (unique) input. The graph of the function touches the x x -axis at point w w and cuts the y y -axis at point q q . Find the length \textbf{length} of line w q wq .

Note: In the answer options, y = 0.5 log 10 2 + log 10 5 y = 0.5 \log_{10} 2 + \log_{10} 5

10^y 5 y 5^0.5 y^10 w and q coincide 25 1

It is simple that at y axis it is 5 units, at x axis too it is 5 units. So answer is 5sqrt2

Yes it is simple:)
