For a quadratic equation a x 2 + b x + c ax^2 + bx + c , we have the sum of roots as b a -\frac{b}{a} . In this problem, we have a = 1 a=1 and b = 0 b=0 , Thus b a -\frac{b}{a} = 0 1 -\frac{0}{1} = 0 \boxed 0
