The Arithmetic Mean between two numbers is 5 and their positive Geometric Mean is 4.Find the numbers.

let the no be x and y then (x+y)/2=5,also (xy)^(1/2)=4 then by subsitution we get
2,8 as the answer

Checking from the options seems the easiest way:

\[\begin{align} \dfrac{8 + 2}{2} &= \boxed{5} \\ \\ \sqrt[2]{8 \times 2} &= \boxed{4}
