Out of two hundred cows in a farm, 99% are white. How many white cows must be removed to reduce it to 98%?

Let x be the number of white cows that has to be removed.

98% * (200 - x) = 198 - x | 19600 - 98x = 19800 - 100x | 2x = 200 | x = 100

Most common answer for this question is 2. 100 appears to be a strange answer since the difference in count is 100 for a small difference of 1%.

Yes, it is a surprising answer. And it would take the removal of another 50 white cows to only reduce it to 96%.
