What is the minimum height of a shelf needed for a 15" flower that is diagonally in a vase that has a 6" diameter base, when there is 5" of flower sticking above the vase?.

Since the vase makes a perfect 6-8-10 right triangle, the vase is 8" high and the remaining flower will make a 3-4-5 triangle as well. Therefore the 4" of added height will require a 12" shelf.
