Let x x be the width of the rectangle and 2 x 2x be the length.

We are given 2 x 5 = x + 6 2x-5=x+6

2 x = x + 11 2x=x+11

x = 11 x=11

Substitute this in to find the area:

11 × 22 = 242 11 \times 22 = 242

Hello,

By this, given that length = 2 width,

so let length = 2x , width = x,

stated that to be a square,

length ---> 2x - 5 , width ----> x + 6

since it is a square,

length = side ,

2x - 5 = x + 6

x = 11,

Area of a rectangle = (2x)(x) = 2x^2 =2(11)^2 = 242 cm^2...

Thanks...

I did it by back tracking, Area of rectangle would be =2w2 so the answer should √w2 /2 would be answer in given options 452/2=121 and √121=11 hence answer is 452
