If α \alpha and β \beta are roots to the equation, 3 2 x + 1 3 x + 3 3 x + 3 2 = 0 3^{2x+1} - 3^{x+3} - 3^x + 3^2 = 0 , find α + β \alpha + \beta .

Let 3^x=k

The equation translates to

3k^2-28k+9=0

k=9,1/3

x=2,-1

alpha+beta=1
